  • Discussion on Application Value of Hysteroscopy in Infertility

    Objective To investigate the application of hysteroscopy in pathological changes of infertility uterus. Methods The clinical data of 226 cases of infertility females receiving hysteroscopy from January 2007 to June 2009 in Sichuan Provincial Hospital for Women and Children were retrospectively analyzed. Results In 226 cases, hysteroscopic examination identified 147 cases of intrauterine diseases (65.04%), including 56 cases of intrauterine adhesion (24.78%), 32 cases of endometritis (14.16%), 27 cases of endometrial polyps (11.94%), 15 cases of uterine malformation (6.64%), 9 cases of submucous myoma (3.98%), 3 cases of endometrial tuberculosis (1.33%), 3 cases of uterus cavity narrow (1.33%), 2 cases of cervical internal relaxation (0.88%). No postoperative complications occurred, except for a small amount of vaginal bleeding. Conclusion For the diagnosis of the pathological changes in uterus, hysteroscopy is a direct and accurate method with less operative duration, less trauma, less pain, quick recovery, no complications, and no necessity for hospitalization. It is worth to be popularized.

  • Clinical Analysis of Laparoscopic Operation for 36 Patients with Interstitial Tubal Pregnancy

    Objective To study the clinical value and surgical procedure of laparoscopic operation for interstitial tubal pregnancy. Methods Clinical data of 36 patients of interstitial tubal pregnancy treated by laparoscopic operation were retrospectively analyzed. Results All 36 patients were operated successfully, without conversions to laparotomy and intra- or post- operative complications. The operation time was 28-85 min(mean, 41min), and the length of stay in hospital postoperative was 3-6 d (mean, 4-5 d). Conclusion Laparoscopic operation for interstitial tubal pregnancy is safe and feasible.

  • Hypoxia-induced USP22 affects the malignant biological behavior of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by regulating HIF-1α

    ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of ubiquitin specific peptidase 22 (USP22) on the occurrence and development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) under hypoxic conditions, and its regulatory relationship with hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α). MethodsWestern blotting and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) were used to detect the differences in USP22 protein and mRNA expression between normal esophageal epithelial cells HEEC and ESCC cell lines KYSE30, KYSE150, EC9706, and TE-1 under normoxic (5% CO2, 20% O2, 75% N2) and hypoxic (5% CO2, 1% O2, 94% N2) conditions. By transfecting USP22 plasmid or siUSP22, ESCC cells were divided into a normoxia control group, a normoxia+USP22 group, a normoxia+siUSP22 group, a hypoxia control group, a hypoxia+USP22 group, and a hypoxia+siUSP22 group. The proliferation and migration abilities of cells in each group were detected. The expression of USP22 and HIF-1α under hypoxic conditions after up-regulating or down-regulating USP22 was detected, and their regulatory relationship was verified. The interaction between USP22 and HIF-1α was verified by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) technique. ResultsCompared with HEEC cells, the expression of USP22 in ESCC cells was significantly increased (P<0.05). Up-regulation of USP22 expression promoted the proliferation and migration of ESCC cells, while silencing USP22 inhibited the proliferation and migration of ESCC cells (P<0.05). Under hypoxic conditions, the expression of USP22 and HIF-1α increased, and with the up-regulation of USP22 expression, the expression of HIF-1α also significantly increased (P<0.05). Co-IP experiment confirmed the binding between USP22 and HIF-1α. ConclusionUp-regulation of USP22 expression promotes the proliferation and migration of ESCC cells. Hypoxia microenvironment can induce the increase of USP22 expression in ESCC. USP22 may participate in the regulation of the occurrence and development of ESCC by directly binding to HIF-1α.

  • Uterine Repair with Exteriorisation or in Situ at Caesarean Section: A Randomized Controlled Trial

    Objective To compare the outcome of uterine exteriorisation repair with in situ in caesarean section. Methods A randomized controlled trial with 220 cases were recruited. Woman with term singleton pregnancy underwent caesarean section and without severe complication were randomly allocated to the two groups (112 cases in exteriorisation group and 108 cases in situ group). Women in treatment group received exteriorisation when the uterus was sutured, While others had the uterus repaired in situ as control. Main outcome measures included perioperative haemodynamic parameters, loss of blood, changes in haemoglobin concentration, duration of operation, postoperative pain score and febrile days, gastrointestinal discomforts and function recovery as well as postoperative maternal morbidity.Data were analyzed by SPSS 11.0. Results Haemoglobin concentration dropped in both groups after caesarean section, and the drops in control group was significantly higher than that of treatment group (t=-2.902, P=0.004). In both groups, pulse before operation was markedly higher than when suturing the uterus and postoperation (Plt;0.05), but no difference was observed between the two groups. Systolic blood pressure of treatment group was lower than that of control group before operation, when suturing the uterus and after operation (F=5.246, P=0.022), but there was no difference among these 3 time points within the group. Onset of flatus was earlier in control group than in treatment group (t=5.567, P=0.000). No difference was identified between the two groups when receiving the different suturing methods. No severe maternal morbidity was observed.Conclusions Uterine exteriorisation and in situ repair have similar effects on intra- and postoperative outcomes. In routine process.
